WOWEE!

A few of our boys headed down to DC for DCCX over the weekend and bagged a couple of podium visits. Julz took 1st against 25 fellow 15-18 year-olds in a race mixed with the Elite women, sitting just seconds behind MAC sweetheart LVG for most of the race. He finished with a healthy lead and we’re quite proud of the boy.

(I’d post some photos but WordPress is being a jerk today).

Lukas and our other brother Lukas came back from lousy start positions (again) to crush legs during the Elite race, with Lukas “Chainsaw” Winterberg taking the big W ahead of Jared Nieters and a slew of MAC’s finest. Big Hand Lukey Muller finished 5th – not bad for a boy who started from the last row.

Well done, fellas. Next stop, the Dirty Jerz CX stage race better known as Beacon/HPCX. See you there!

Whew! We have been quite busy over the past few weeks since our last big update. The team has been doing quite well, with great finishes at Gloucester, Providence, and Granogue, including some podium visits by our juniors and Swiss riders. Though our guys are taking a much-needed break this weekend they will be back in full force for Beacon and HPCX at the end of the month.

The PCS team had a great day at Bryn Athyn College, with riders on the podium in every event contested. Jimmy and Cole took 1st and 2nd in the Amateur U19 event. In the Elite U19 field Julz fought hard, again through tons of Masters traffic, to land in 3rd place behind the duo of Granigan and Anderson (both members of the famous Saling cycling dynasty). Great riding by our juniors!

The Elite race was one of the most exciting this season. The Lukas twins launched an attack from the gun, with Bad Andy Wulfkuhle fighting for the lead. BA fought hard, though Winterberg was able to pull away on the flats and pushed his lead to over 30 seconds, leaving Muller and BA to duke it out for 5 laps.

BA dropped Muller, only to have him fight back, take the lead, and settle in. During the final lap, Bad Andy made an incredible last ditch effort and put Lukas behind him in 3rd place. Pat Bradley finished in the field.

Charmed

Last weekend, the team headed down to Baltimore for two days of racing (Charm City CX) and bagged some decent results, especially U19 Elite rider Julz Meier, who placed 2nd in his event on Sunday and moved up to 2nd overall in the series standings.

Nicely done, Julz!

Jimmy Maurer had a nice weekend as well, taking 4th on Sunday.

HOLESHOT JIMMY!

Our Elite riders raced hard and fast against fellow Euros Ian Field and Tom Van Den Bosch, who have been crushing the MAC field so far. Eric took 4th on Saturday, with the Lukas Twins and Pat Bradley following him in 12th (LW), 13th (LM), and 22nd. Day #2 was equally challenging, with the field chasing Field and Van Den Bosch again. Eric and The Lukas Twins battled hard, and finished 9th (LW), 10th (LM), and 13th (EB). Pat Bradley suffered multiple mechanical issues and pulled out.

We hope to get on the podium at Whirlybird this weekend and hope to see you there. Stop by our team tent to check out our gear and talk with our riders.

Back to School

PCS U19 rider Jimmy Rock had plenty to smile about – he and teammate Cole Reece spent the weekend trading places on the top two tiers. Cole, in his first CX race EVER, placed 1st on Saturday with Jimmy right behind him in 2nd. The two flipped their results on Sunday with Jimmy in the top spot. Great riding from these talented kids!

Julz Meier had a tough race in the U19 Elite event. The mud-caked course forced him to exchange his team-issue Cyfacs every half lap but he held on for a strong 5th place finish, fighting lapped Masters traffic the whole way. By the photo below, his determination is going to pay off this season.

The Elites had a good but tough weekend, with Eric finishing 6th and Lukas Muller in 13th on Saturday. Pat Bradley finished an unconfirmed Top 25. Sunday was fast and muddy, with more peanut buttery-mud to contend with. Eric had a great start and was with the leaders in 3rd until some loose course tape got jammed in his drivetrain with 2-to-go, forcing him to dismount, unjam the tape, then pit. More mechanical issues pushed him back to a Top 20, along with Lukas M.

We’re hoping for more great results this weekend at Charm City. See you there!
